Supporting Parents
A recent parent workshop to support children with number sense and fluency at home.
"I thought the workshop was great. It was really useful for me to be able to understand how .... is / will be learning maths at this age as I really want to be able to support this at home and not confuse her with different ways of doing things. The games were well explained and I really enjoyed being able to try these with her during the session so that we could play at home. I had no idea how maths would be approached in reception so this has been extremely useful. Thank you very much for arranging the session"
Feedback from a parent attending one of the sessions
At Stanton we use the Maths No Problem Maths Mastery Scheme. To support your child’s learning, we’re giving you an online version of your child’s maths textbook and workbook called Parent Guides. Please contact the school for your access code. To see which topics are being taught then please visit the Maths section of the school website and click on the year group you wish to view.
Finally, there are some great parent videos on the website explaining fundamental ideas in maths and methods https://mathsnoproblem.com/en/parent-videos/
