My favourite books as a child were What Katy Did by Susan Coolidge and The Railway Children by Enid Blyton. I also loved Little Women by Louisa M Alcott. I couldn't read them enough! Often as soon as I finished them I would read them again. The authors drag you into the story, so much so that you can't put the book down! I highly recommend them to anyone who likes a very traditional story.

KS1 (KS2 would love this one too!)- "You're Called What?!" by Kes Gray and Nikki Dyson. This is a laugh a minute read based on real life animals with very unusual names. A real tongue twister to practise using your sounds too, as well as simply enjoying a wonderful story. KS2- The Nowhere Emporium by Ross MacKenzie. This book is packed with detailed description that has been carefully crafted by the author. An imaginitive storyline that draws you in and ensures you will struggle to put this book down.

I would recommend Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne because it is a classic book first published in 1873 and has more formal language so probably more suitable for KS2. It is about a 40 year old man travelling around the world with his servant for a bet of £20,000, (which was a lot more in those days plus there were no aeroplanes!). It is an adventurous read for those off you who like to just read, read ,read! it is an amazing tale and even though I haven't finished it yet I want to do so very quickly! Hope you 😊 enjoy.

I am reading Hoot Owl, Master of Disguise by Sean Taylor. It is really funny and has good words to describe what he is doing - "Everyone knows owls are wise, but as well as being wise, I am a master of disguise!" It has a twist at the end of the story too. I would 100% recommend my favourite book series of all time - The School for Good and Evil. It is definitely a book for year 5 and 6s as their is a lot of.. you know... death! It is written by Soman Chainani who lives in florida and is a very talented writer. The last book in the series is out in September and I just cant wait! These books really intrigued me right from the start and once I had started I just couldn't stop as the level of description is amazing and its so clear that you can vividly see an image in your mind. This is the best series if you like death, action and (a lot of) MYSTERY!!!

One of my favourite reads is the His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman. It starts with the book Northern Lights. It is a science fantasy story with a girl called Lyra and her friend Roger meeting a whole host of good and bad people and creatures on an epic adventure. I read this book as an adult but I’d say it is suitable for anyone aged 10 and over.
